Pest Control Questions, Answered Honestly
Everything you need to know about our herbal nano-technology, treatment process, safety standards, and what to expect from a Green Nano Thai service.
Common Questions
Are your treatments safe for children and pets?
Yes - completely. All our active compounds are derived from certified herbal sources. There are no synthetic pesticides, no harmful solvents, and no residual toxins in any of our formulations. Most treatments allow you to remain in the property during and immediately after application. Where a brief period of ventilation is recommended, we will tell you in advance.
Will I need to leave my home during treatment?
In almost all cases, no. Our herbal nano-technology is designed for use in occupied properties. Unlike conventional chemical treatments that require residents to vacate for several hours, our formulations are low-odour and leave no harmful residue on surfaces. For specific treatments such as our mosquito misting programme, we recommend staying out of treated outdoor areas for 30 minutes while the formula dries.
What happens during a free inspection?
One of our certified technicians visits your property at a time that suits you. We conduct a thorough survey of all areas - interior, exterior, roof space, sub-floor where accessible, and garden perimeter. We identify current infestations, potential entry points, and conditions that may attract future pest activity. You receive a written report outlining our findings and a clear treatment recommendation. There is no obligation to proceed.
How does nano-particle pest control actually work?
Conventional pest sprays coat surfaces with a chemical barrier - which pests can often detect and avoid. Our herbal nano-particles are engineered at a molecular scale, small enough to penetrate the micro-cracks, timber fibres, and voids where pest colonies actually live. Once inside these spaces, the actives disrupt the pests' biological processes and communication systems. The colony is eliminated from the inside out, not just repelled at the surface.
How quickly will I see results?
Most clients see measurable pest reduction within the first week of treatment. Our termite programme produces complete colony elimination within 7 to 10 days. Cockroach and ant gel bait treatments typically show significant reduction within 3 to 5 days as the active compound transfers through the colony. Mosquito misting provides immediate knockdown of adult populations with ongoing protection as the formula remains active in treated areas.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. Every treatment programme comes with a written guarantee. For termite control, this is a 12-month guarantee - if termite activity returns within 12 months of treatment, we retreat the property at no additional charge. Other service guarantees vary by programme and will be confirmed in your written treatment agreement before we begin any work.
How much does pest control cost?
Pricing depends on the type of pest, the size of the property, and the extent of the infestation. We do not quote over the phone because accurate pricing requires a proper site assessment. The free inspection is how we determine exactly what is needed - you receive a clear, itemised quote before any commitment is made. There are no hidden fees and no pressure to decide on the spot.
Do you need to drill into my walls for termite treatment?
No. This is one of the most significant differences between our approach and conventional termite control. Traditional chemical termite treatments require drilling holes at regular intervals into walls, floors, and foundation edges to inject termiticide under pressure. Our nano-particle treatment is applied to accessible surfaces and perimeter soil, where it migrates naturally through capillary action into the timber and voids where termites are active. No drilling. No structural disruption.
How do I know if I have termites?
Common signs include mud tubes running along walls or foundations, hollow-sounding timber when tapped, discarded wings near windows and doors (especially after rain), and visible damage to wood that appears eaten from the inside. In Chiang Mai's older teak structures, sawdust-like frass near timber joints is also a warning sign. If you notice any of these, contact us promptly - early treatment is significantly less costly than structural repairs.
Why is pest control particularly important in Chiang Mai?
Northern Thailand's climate - warm year-round temperatures, high humidity during the wet season, and the prevalence of older timber construction - creates near-ideal conditions for termites, cockroaches, and tropical ants. Chiang Mai also has a large population of subterranean termite species that are highly aggressive toward structural timber. Properties that receive no preventive treatment are significantly more vulnerable than those in drier climates.
Do you service areas outside central Chiang Mai?
Yes. We service all areas of Chiang Mai province, including Nimmanhaemin, Hang Dong, San Kamphaeng, Mae Rim, Doi Saket, and the surrounding districts. If you are unsure whether we cover your location, contact us and we will confirm promptly.
How often do I need pest control treatments?
This depends entirely on the pest and the property. A one-time termite treatment with a 12-month guarantee may be all that is required for a well-maintained property. Cockroach and rodent programmes may recommend quarterly follow-up visits in properties with persistent risk factors - commercial kitchens, ground-floor condominiums, or homes adjacent to open land. Mosquito control is most effective as a monthly maintenance programme during Chiang Mai's warmer months. We will make a clear recommendation during your free inspection based on what we actually find.
